Connections

By default, your RESX profile was set to allow one connection enroute to your destination. This will allow RESX to search for the lowest fares. If you uncheck this option, you should know that you will not be presented with the most economical airfare options.

Co-Terminals

Co Terminals are two or more airports that serve the same area. For example, Newark Liberty, JFK, and LaGuardia are co-terminals for the New York City Metropolitan area. To have RESX search for the lowest fare for your trip, it is best to ALLOW the search for co-terminals.

Hotel Searches

Remember, RESX will only do what you ask it to do! When searching for a specific hotel, remember to

Update your travel preference to either include or exclude the hotel chain associated with this particular search. If you are searching for a Hilton hotel but your travel preferences indicate a preference for Marriott hotels, RESX will display all available Marriott hotels BEFORE displaying a Hilton hotel.
When searching by a hotel name, be as succinct as possible. It’s better to use a shorter name rather than a longer one.
Remember, RESX will ALWAYS default to hotels that offer your company's negotiated rate or preferred hotel. Once the hotel options page is displayed, click on the “sort by user preference” option to list your hotel at the top of the display.

International Travel

RESX considers travel to Canada and Mexico to be international travel, and REQUIRES that passport information be entered into your RESX profile. If you do not have a passport, you cannot use RESX to make reservations to Canada and Mexico

Penalties

By default, your RESX profile was set to allow a search for airfares that have a fee to change and are non-refundable. If you are planning travel for a trip where you cannot accept a non-refundable air ticket, unselect this option by clicking on the “travel preferences” link. It’s best to unselect this option for THIS TRIP ONLY, rather than saving this preference as your permanent default.

Useability

AVOID the “Enter” key and your browser “Back” button. RESX works best when you use the “submit” or “back” buttons located on the bottom of the RESX display screen.
You must click in the first field on the screen before typing. RESX does not automatically place the cursor in the first empty box on the screen.
When updating your profile, click “Save” only once. Your changes will be saved even though RESX does NOT respond with a confirmation.
